Welcome to the West Virginia Wesleyan College Center for Addiction and Trauma (WVWC CAT), a dynamic hub for ideas and innovation where leaders, practitioners, and scholars come together to reimagine how our communities respond to trauma and substance use. Serving as a catalyst for statewide partnerships, the Center is proud to collaborate with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) to present our inaugural 2026 Summer Institute: Where Healing Takes Root. This collaborative initiative bridges honest conversation and cross-disciplinary dialogue with cutting-edge virtual simulation training, featuring interactive role-play scenarios modeled directly after real-world CASA work. Combined with expert-facilitated debriefs led by trained counselor educators, this institute elevates best practices and turns deep insights into concrete, skills-based action to nurture the next generation of servant leaders in West Virginia.
